UNCLE SAM WANTS YOU!

...To be our intern for the 2010/2011 school year!
We're looking for the best and brightest Calvin Knights out there to take up the challenge of spreading democracy... or at least, educating fellow knights as to why it Matters.
The internship is a great way to gain political experience, networking skills, community organizing and also a little pocket money. Did we mention it looks great on a resume?
As an intern, you'll be responsible for hosting a core group of leaders each week and working out how best to spread the message of Democracy Matters. We'll be here to get you started until you're reading to fly the organization on your own!
Visit democracymatters.org for general information about the organization, or email us at calvindemocracymatters@gmail.com for further questions and the application.

Can't wait to hear from you!

DM Summit 2010

This past weekend(Jan 29-31) Calvin College chapter of Democracy Matters attended the annual Democracy Matters Summit in Albany, NY. These three days were filled with amazing workshops, a documentary title " Go, Granny, Go!", skits, and amazing speakers. We learned so much about the meaning of Clean elections and how it is so important in every facet of our lives. The Supreme court decision last week created a challenge for Clean Elections, but the DM summit reinvigorated our desire to work for change and to promote Clean Elections. Stay tuned for events and ways to get involved in the Calvin College chapter!
